Friday 23rd September 2011, Clapham.
I had talked to Chris about Wearelucky long before the idea really developed as he is an ideas man, constantly dreaming up hairbrained plans. Some of them have even come to life. As I hoped, he had been very positive about the idea and encouraged me to push it further.
We met up in the bar of a London hotel. I had already had a few beers and was running a little late as usual. Clive Owen was at the next table. Chris and I had a good chat and I described how the project had developed. We were just about to take some photographs when a group of friends arrived, bought us more beers and settled in at our table. The moment passed and I was a little pissed off as the hotel had some really cool rooms that would have been perfect for the shoot.
Questions & Answers
1. What have you decided to do with the money?
Fund my Nan's great escape and help the Crystal Clear campaign. Something direct and immediate, balanced with something more long term.
2. Did you think about spending the money on yourself and what difference the money might make to your life?
Yes, but ironically I will probably get more out of giving this money than spending it on me.
3. Why do you think we feel good about doing something for others?
Everyone wants happiness. Facilitating happiness for someone else is akin to creating your own. You can see their happiness and that reward becomes your own.
